CODE CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

  • Dignity and Courtesy: Students are expected to conduct themselves with dignity and courtesy at all times. They must carry their identity cards and present them upon request.
  • Appearance and Dress Code: Students should maintain a clean and professional appearance. Adherence to the college’s dress code, including wearing the prescribed uniform or professional attire, is mandatory.
  • Modesty in Dress: Strict modesty in dress is required. Students must ensure their clothing is appropriate and aligns with the college’s standards, reflecting the professional standards expected of future educators.
  • Uniform Compliance: Students must wear the uniform as prescribed by the college. Non-compliance will be addressed according to college policies.
  • Respect for Staff: Students should greet all staff members respectfully upon first interaction each day. Respect for mentors and educators is paramount in a teacher education setting.
  • Classroom Etiquette: Upon the entry of a visitor or staff member into the classroom, students must stand and remain standing until directed otherwise.
  • Leaving the Classroom: Students must leave the lecture hall quietly and respectfully, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing classes and activities.
  • Orderly Conduct: Crowding, shouting, or any disruptive behavior in verandahs, doorways, or other areas will be treated as acts of indiscipline.
  • Class Attendance: Students should not leave the classroom during lectures or guest lectures except for unavoidable reasons and with permission. Regular attendance is crucial for their professional development.
  • Punctuality: Students must be seated and ready for class 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Persistent lateness will be addressed, as punctuality is a key professional trait.
  • Latecomers: Latecomers must seek permission from the lecturer before entering the class. Repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action.
  • Library Conduct: Students should utilize the library for study purposes when not in class. Loitering in other areas of the campus is prohibited, reflecting the focus on academic growth.
  • Laboratory Access: Entry to laboratories is restricted to authorized students and requires prior consent from the lecturer in charge. Students must adhere to safety protocols and professional standards in practical settings.
  • Proper Use of Furniture: Students should handle furniture with care. Misplacement or dislocation of furniture is considered a violation of campus rules.
  • Prohibited Activities: Participation in agitations against authority or activities that foster communal or religious disharmony is forbidden. Addressing gatherings on campus without prior permission, except for college union activities, is not allowed.
  • Interview Permission: Students must obtain prior permission from the principal before attending any interviews, reflecting their professional commitment and respect for institutional procedures.
  • Mobile Phones and Campus Events: Mobile phones, cinematic dances, and fashion shows are not permitted on campus. Unauthorized events and activities are also prohibited to maintain a focus on academic and professional development.
  • College Union Regulations: College union office bearers who repeatedly violate conduct rules will be removed from their positions.
  • Banners and Posters: The use of banners, flags, and posters inside the campus or at the gate requires the principal’s prior approval.
  • Certificate Issuance: Certificates will only be issued if the principal is satisfied with the applicant’s reason. Applications should be submitted at least two days in advance.
  • Conduct Certificates: Conduct certificates are generally issued along with the transfer certificate upon course completion. Special requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Ragging: Ragging is a serious, non-bailable offense subject to criminal prosecution. The college has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
  • Outsiders and Campus Activities: Outsiders must have the principal’s permission to attend or organize any activities on campus. Unauthorized activities by outsiders will not be permitted.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Students must contribute to maintaining a clean and green campus by disposing of waste properly and avoiding littering. They should also save energy and water, switch off unused fans and lights, and conserve other resources.
  • Safety and Security: Students are expected to follow all safety and security protocols on campus, including emergency evacuation procedures and adherence to security staff instructions.
  • Digital Conduct: Online behavior and communications related to the college should reflect the institution’s values and respect. Any form of cyberbullying or inappropriate online behavior will be addressed seriously.
  • Health and Well-being: Students are encouraged to maintain their health and well-being, and seek help from campus health services if needed. Regular attendance and engagement in academic and extracurricular activities are essential for overall success.
